As we process orders here, we’ve noticed MANY of you are getting married on June 6, 2008 or… 06-07-08 or 6.7.8 — pretty cool! That wedding date runs a close second in popularity to the upcoming and LUCKY date of August 8, 2008 or 8-8-8.
Best wishes to all who are getting married this year!

Famed celebrity wedding planner, Mindy Weiss lends her sense of style and sophistication in the creation of these must-have products for planning your wedding day! Each product is designed in her signature light-blue and white color palette with a pair of lovebirds.
Dove chocolates recently debuted their wedding chocolates of which you can personalize the inside of the wrappers. Cute but I would have liked to personalize the outside of the wrapper, instead it has the letter “D” on the outside as standard. Awesome if your last name started with the letter “D”! For all you chocolate lovers out there, this might be something of interest.
Take a look at one of our newest items - “Meant to Bee” Ceramic Honey Pot with Wooden Dipper! Is this not the most adorable thing? In the picture, I just filled it with honey and am now taking out some honey with the mini wood dipper that has a heart shape ceramic tip! Each pot is beautifully packaged in a clear top box with a white ribbon, so it’s ready to give! It’s such a petite, practical and wonderful wedding favor!
Next to the HGTV channel, I can’t get enough of the FoodNetwork. Mind you, I do not cook… well, at least, not that well. Just your basics: meatloaf, spaghetti, yground beef casserole, salmon with dijon mustard, beef stew. See, really basic. But, it’s nice to watch my cooking heroes Giada, Rachel, and Jamie do what they do best.
The week of April 28th, FoodNetwork will begin its WeddingWeek. You know I’ll be watching it or, at least, it’s on my TIVO!
Wow! I just finished watching this kick-butt on-site wedding video produced by the ever talented Jason Magbanua. The song playing throughout is “At the Beginning” sung by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis. Yes, THAT Richard Marx who sang the 80’s hits “Right Here Waiting” and “Should’ve Known Better”, just to name a couple (he’s had TONS of hits). The lyrics of this song are just apropos to the occassion and I LOVE how Jason has synched up the video cuts to the beats of the song. Brillliantly shot and edited video of a military wedding and I invite you to spare 3 minutes and 38 seconds of your time to watch.
While cruising the wedding-related aisle of my all-time favorite store, Target, my heart skipped a beat when I noticed their latest offering. Letterpress stationery! Beautiful and simple designs all with the trademark deep impressions only available with this age-old printing. What’s even better - the price! Yeah, yeah… the quality isn’t as great as those purchased from the professional letterpress houses. But, man, these are just too good to pass up! I even bought some beautiful “Thank You” notecards just for everyday use. They even have letterpress “save the date” stationery that looks as though you can pass through your home printer. I *think* you can. I didn’t read the label that close. So don’t quote me. Run don’t walk!
I have loved this store since the 80’s. Living in Houston, Texas, my family frequented Target which was only a block away (it has since closed down!). I must admit that Target back then was definitely not what it is now. No high-end clothing designers. No grocery store. No Global Bizarre (although I hear that there are plans to cease doing the Global Bizarre). The current buyer(s) or merchandiser(s) of the stationery, home and wedding departments are in complete synch with my sensibilities. It’s as if they read my mind! Me love you Target!
Spring is just around the corner - thank goodness! The 30 degree weather and snow is getting a bit old. Next season please! Got to thinking about the flowers that are waiting to bloom in the next few weeks. My favorite this time of year: Ranunculus, Tulips, Viburnum, Stephanotis, and Hyacinth. *sigh* The following collage showcases all of these dreamy flowers.
I really like this all black-and-white AVP from the folks at MG Digital Video. The cinematography is amazing - great angles and great editing and great effects. The music is kinda slow and I wish it was more upbeat. But I really enjoyed watching the footage especially when the bride begins to process down the aisle. It’s got the usual tricks - slow motion and fast cuts and the video clocks in at a little over 2.5 minutes which is just perfect! Whadya think!?
